Qualitynet holds the second edition of QRun, Kuwait’s largest kids’ marathon in support of the Kuwait Down Syndrome Society.
Qualitynet, Kuwait’s #1 ICT, Data Communications & Internet Services Provider conducted its QRun Kids Marathon at Murouj for kids between the ages of 2 and 12 years. The event which was held in support of the Kuwait Down Syndrome Society, saw a turn-up of over 550 kids, and was a roaring success.
The QRun Marathon has a total of 4 divisions, and the top 3 girls and boys from each category were rewarded. The youngest group, ages 2 till 4 years covered a distance of 500 meters, while the next category, aged 5 till 6 years, covered a distance of 750 meters. The third category for ages 7 till 9, covered a distance of 1 Kilometer, while the final category, ages 10 till 12 years covered a distance of 1.25 Kilometers.
Mohammed Al-Nusif, CEO – Qualitynet distributed the awards for the winners. In a statement he gave after the event, Mohammed said he was delighted with the great success of the Marathon, the biggest of its kind in Kuwait amid a large number of children from different nationalities including Kuwait, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, France, Britain and the US. He especially appreciated the cooperation with Pro-Vision sport Management, who partnered with Qualitynet for the event. The proceeds from the event were handed over to support the Kuwait Down Syndrome Society. “Our goal is to support a healthy and active lifestyle among residents in Kuwait, and we believe the practice should start early in life. As a brand, we invest in Social Responsibility initiatives, and this Marathon is a message to all, stressing on the need to exercise in order to stay healthy and fit, especially in a nation that occupies a high place on nations with high diabetes rates”, said Mohammed. He concluded by saying it was an absolute pleasure seeing the smiles on so many faces as they cross the finish line, in what turned out to be a fun run with many activities for Kids.
